Fiona Apple is now just two weeks away from releasing her first album in seven years, The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do. Following the lead single, 'Every Single Night', the second track to surface is 'Werewolf', which you can stream below (via Pitchfork).
In an interview with Pitchfork, Apple explained that the song includes a sample of children screaming on a playground, which was her attempt of replicating sounds from a battle scene in a movie that was playing in the background while she was first recording the song. 'I liked it, but I couldn't use it from the movie. I spent literally the next year trying to recreate that sound. I went to San Francisco for Halloween and I was hanging out in trolleys recording people screaming. I would walk past a bunch of drunk people and be like: 'Hey, scream!''
The Idler Wheel' arrives June 19th via Epic.
